Technical Bulletins
Every once in a while an issue comes up that may affect multiple users – see if any are relevant to your situation.
Content Previews not displaying in Windows (Feb, 2013)
Some users of Windows 7 or Windows Vista may find that nothing displays when they click on the Previews button in Metrix. Details can be found here.
Mac OS X Java 1.6.0_20 issue (Feb, 2012)
Users may find themselves inadvertently updating to an incompatible version of Java. Details can be found here.
Screen Trueflow – scaling / shingling
The Trueflow workflow from Screen only supports page shingling (creep) as a page ‘move’ and not via ‘scaling’. Any imported impositions using the AutoJDF function or the underlying Open Imposition Interface will fail on conversion if page scaling is detected.
Recovering the Shared Network Content Folders
Metrix 2012.0 removed the need for most users to use the Shared Network Content Folders area of the Database/Conventions. In the rare situation that a user does in fact need to regain access to this functionality, please contact metrixsupport@metrixsoftware.com for assistance.
Behavior of Fold F8-4 has been changed
Prior to Metrix 2012.0 Fold F8-4 was only automatically adjusting one of the outside panel widths in a project, based on the Roll Fold Clearance value in the Database Conventions. This has been resolved, but please note that when old projects are opened that contain products using F8-4 it will require some manual intervention to adopt the new behavior. Please view this movie for an explanation.
